Ouma is kunssinnig en verbeeldingryk. Sy’s ‘n liefdevolle storieverteller en sy neem Gideonette onder haar vlerk.
Rika het drama aan die Universiteit van Stellenbosch studeer. Sy het as ’n medelid van die Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in 1986 gekwalifiseer (Klassieke Ballet – Cecchetti Metode) en Gevorderde Onderwysers in 1991. Sy het kontemporêre dans met Adele Blank gedoen en jazz met Lynton Burns en is ’n lid van die Cecchetti Vereniging van Suidelike Afrika. Sy het in 12 TV-advertensies opgetree (insluitend twee onderskrywings), industriële teater (vir FNB in 2016), stemwerk, radio-aanbieding en vele teaterproduksies. Rika is ’n opgeleide vertaler vir die SABC se oorklankingsdepartment en was medeskrywer van Tot die dood ons skei, wat genomineer is vir ’n KKNK-toekenning vir Beste Opvoering.
Rika het in vollengte films soos Snip en Rissiepit, Die Square, Mrs Mandela, Roepman en Verraaiers opgetree. Behalwe haar filmondervinding, het sy ook rolle vertolk in bekende TV-produksies soos Agter Elke Man en Fees van die Ongenooides. Sy was die eerste vroulike aanbieder vir SABC TV in 1975, aanbieder in die tagtigs vir Good Morning South Africa en ’n speletjiesaanbieder vir Laat Waai en Uit die Wakis.

Ouma is artsy and imaginative. She is a loving storyteller and takes Gideonette under her wing.
Rika studied drama at the University of Stellenbosch. She qualified as an Associate Member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in 1986 (Classical Ballet – Cecchetti Method) and Advanced Teachers in 1991. She did contemporary dance with Adele Blank and jazz with Lynton Burns and is a member of the Cecchetti Society of Southern Africa.
She has appeared in 12 television commercials (including two endorsements), industrial theatre (for FNB in 2016), voice-overs, radio presenting and many theatre productions. Rika is a trained translator for the SABC dubbing department and was the co-writer of Tot die dood ons skei, nominated for a KKNK Best Play award.
Rika starred in feature films such as Snip en Rissiepit, Die Square, Mrs Mandela, Roepman and Verraaiers. Over and above her feature film experience, she also starred in the well-known television productions Agter Elke Man and Fees van die Ongenooides. She was the first female presenter for SABC TV in 1975, presenter in the eighties for Good Morning South Africa and a game show presenter for Laat Waai and Uit die Wakis.
